Making FITWIT Yoga a good fit for you!

The main thing to remember is to work at your own pace and take breaks when you need to!

If you have difficultites getting down onto the floor and getting right back up again, you may want to consider 1 or 2 personal training sessions in order to learn how to use a chair, fitball or some other prop for assisting you in getting down to & up from the floor.

When taking a FitWit Yoga class for the first time, keep in mind that unlike other class formats, the moves/poses do not have to be performed in sync with other class members. Everyone moves at their own pace! If you find yourself halfway through the previous pose while someone else is starting the next--that is perfectly fine. If there are times during the class that you want to simply sit and watch how a pose or stretch is done or even to just take a breather--that is OK too!

The first few classes you attend, you may want to be sure to get a yoga block. These are used to place the hands on in various poses so that bending down to touch the floor is easier and more comfortable.

If you have certain limitations, such as wrist issues, bad knees, lower back pain--and certainly pregnancy is not an "limitation", but modifications will be necessary--come in a few minutes early to talk with the instructor. When the instructor is aware of your needs, then they can give modifications during class to make the class much more user-friendly, effective and enjoyable for you.
